  • Fat Loss Forever

    Layne Norton

Diets are failing in an epic way. Chances are you've tried one of the popular diets out there. The Atkins Diet, The South Beach Diet, The Zone Diet, The Blood Type Diet, The Eat Clean Diet, The Alkaline Diet, The Ornish Diet, The Insert Name Here Diet. You probably lost some weight... for awhile. Did you keep it off? Chances are you didn't. In fact, chances are you regained it all back and possibly then some. You aren't alone. Six out of seven people who are overweight are able to successfully lose weight during their lifetime. But 85-95% of them will fail at keeping it off in the long term. If this sounds bad, consider that ⅓-⅔ of those people will add back on more weight than they lost in the first place! If this cycle is repeated it can turn into 'yo-yo dieting', quite possibly one of the worst things you can do for your mental and physical health.Ask anyone and they will tell you that you need to lose weight and keep it off and prevent yo-yo dieting, but no one gives you an idea of HOW to accomplish that. What makes our book different? We discuss WHY diets fail on a physiological, psychological, and sociological level so you can better understand why what you did previously did not work. Then we also detail the MOST IMPORTANT behaviors, methods, and traits for losing weight and KEEPING IT OFF.This book is for everyone who wants to lose weight and keep it off, especially for those frustrated and hopeless chronic dieters tired of trying all the popular diets only to repeatedly fail. There is still hope to be found in these pages. Please give us the chance to guide you.

@fierstine @Abhiman39134793 @BioLayne I like to think that these two books represent very solid information on *what* to eat and also *how much* to eat, and since the answer is somewhere in between, you are definitely covering your bases here. They are, possibly unexpectedly, quite complementary IMHO. 😁👍🏽

  • Eat Like the Animals

    David Raubenheimer

What drives the human appetite? Two leading scientists share their cutting-edge research to show how we can gain control over what, when, and how much we eat.

Why does obesity continue to increase sharply instead of plateauing? Because it is driven by protein dilution, and as you get fatter and more insulin resistant your protein requirement goes UP, worsening the problem and creating a vicious cycle. Explained here by @eatlikeanimals https://t.co/RlXqrPPB22

  • Burn

    Herman Pontzer PhD

"New research blows the lid off how we really burn calories, lose weight, and stay healthy"--

Finished this excellent book by @HermanPontzer — take home message is that while exercise is absolutely critical for health as well as weight loss MAINTENANCE, exercise by itself is not great for weight loss—this requires dietary change. Mirrors my clinical experience quite well. https://t.co/Ahjrvknz1w

Yes I love @eatlikeanimals and I recommend both of their books and all of their many scientific publications!! I admit I took their research and ran to the dark side with it [body composition and function] rather than the light side [protein restriction and ? longevity]. 😁 https://t.co/08w1wIl2Vk

  • The PE Diet

    Ted Naiman

@marm0t Steak, eggs, and avocados…awesome foods and I love them and I eat them, but with a < 1.0 P:E ratio it is definitely a maintenance meal, and for someone fairly active at that. If you are cutting you want to aim lower in fat. Check it out (and check out the book for more info). https://t.co/pxWm86DHym
